Whilst said slightly tongue in cheek – Christmas holidays and the Black Friday / Cyber Monday weekend often place additional stress on our customer’s websites – especially those with online stores. Visitor numbers are up, transactions increase and subsequently the resources demanded by your website rise. If you are not on an adequate hosting plan you may encounter 503 errors with customers unable to reach your site.

Single Accounts
If you have a website hosted on our shared or reseller platform then why not give one of our plus accounts a go?
The additional cost is just £5 per month on top of the standard shared hosting price, however accounts are then provided with double the resources with 2 CPU Cores and 1GB or 1.5GB of RAM available to the account.
Upgrades are processed within minutes during office hours.
We also have our Optweb platform. Initially aimed at Magento stores we now use these LiteSpeed enabled servers for very active sites with a number of levels available and prices starting from £20 per month.
A migration is likely however downtime is minimal and account moves can be performed out of hours.
Cloud Servers
Our customers on Cloud Servers have 2 options available to them:
1) Increase RAM & CPU Cores – £10 per GB of RAM & £8 per CPU Core
2) Switch to LiteSpeed Web Server. Whilst licences start at £30 per month, this drop in replacement for the standard server software can see RAM & CPU use drop dramatically. Often we find it is possible to actually remove resources once in place.
All it takes is a quick reboot to make these changes.
