We take five with Chris, founder of Clook, musician and wiz around the carting tracks. Let’s find out a little more about him.
ℹ️ Tell us a little bit about your role at Clook?
I founded this business in 2002 and over the years have worked in most of the roles we have. Nowadays I focus on business strategy which translates to keeping the business moving forward and growing, researching possible new services, platforms and opportunities and helping the team to excel in their roles. I miss being in a customer-facing role as this is a part of the business I enjoy but know that customers are getting well looked after by the people we have at the end of the phone/email/livechat.
ℹ️ What’s your workspace looking like right now?
I’m lucky enough to have an office with a spacious desk so can accommodate the monitor space I need to work. The newest addition to the desk is a Lumie Desklamp which replicates sunlight and helps the body generate vitamin D.
ℹ️ What’s an everyday ritual you have to do?
Most mornings I walk the dog which as well as tiring the dog out allows me to think through the day ahead.
ℹ️ Tell us an interesting fact about yourself?
In the 90’s I was in a band that played one of our first gigs at the same venue Oasis played their first gig.
ℹ️ What have you learnt about working remotely?
It took 8 years for this business to have a “bricks and mortar” office so I knew what to expect when working from home. Like a lot of working parents, I have found the childcare/home life/work balance to be the biggest challenge through the lockdown.
It’s great for us all to be back safely in the office now, and we are all looking forward to some exciting things coming up.
