How to migrate your Magento store
So you’ve made the decision to move your Magento store to a new hosting environment but you’re not sure how or you find the thought of doing so yourself quite daunting.
Depending upon your knowledge, it’s fairly easy to move a single Magento install. There are essentially three steps to this; download copies of your files and database, upload the files and database to your new hosting environment and finally link the database.

Use FTP Software
In many cases, using FTP software is the simplest way to transfer your Magento files to a new web hosting account. There are two steps to this process
aConnect to the hosting account you are looking to migrate from and download the files to a local machine
bOnce the files have downloaded you simply upload them to your new hosting account’s main folder which is usually public_html, www or httpdocs.
aUse cPanel’s file manager to compress all the files in your public_html folder and download them to a local machine.
bLogin to the cPanel on your new server and upload the zip file and then extract it.
Move your Magento database
aLogin to cPanel and export a copy of your database using phpMyAdmin
bLogin to cPanel on your new server and import the database you just downloaded again using phpMyAdmin
Either using cPanel’s file manager or your favourite FTP software, edit
Set Database Name
Replace MyDatabaseName with the name of your database.
Set Database User
Replace MyUserName with your MySQL username
Set Database Password
Replace MyPassword with your MySQL user’s password.
Point your domain to your server
To point your domain’s DNS to the new host you have to change the nameservers for your domain name to those of your new host.
The nameservers can be changed via your domain registrar.
For Clook customers, who have purchased or transferred a domain to us, this is a simple as logging into your client area, navigating to Domains > My Domains and clicking on the Manage button and setting the nameservers to ns1.clook.net and ns2.clook.net
