Google has announced that, from January 2026, Gmail will no longer support “POP fetch.”
This is the Gmail feature that lets you check mail from other accounts (like your Clook-hosted email) inside Gmail by automatically pulling it in via POP.
If you’ve been using this feature, your Gmail inbox will stop receiving new messages from your Clook account after January 2026.
But don’t worry — your email isn’t going anywhere. You just need to update how you connect to it.
Step 1: Check if you’re affected
- Log in to Gmail on a desktop browser.
- Go to Settings (the ⚙ gear icon) → See all settings.
- Click the Accounts and Import tab.
- Look under Check mail from other accounts.
- If your Clook email address is listed there, you are using POP fetch and will need to make changes.
- If it isn’t listed, you’re not affected.
Step 2: Choose how you want to keep accessing your Clook email
Option A: Add your Clook email directly into the Gmail app
- The Gmail mobile app supports IMAP, which continues to work after 2026.
- Go to the Gmail app → Add another account → Other (IMAP).
- Enter your Clook email address and password.
- Use the following settings:
- Incoming (IMAP) server: [clook server
hostname].yourdomain.com - Port: 993
- Security: SSL/TLS
- Outgoing (SMTP) server: [clook server
hostname].yourdomain.com - Port: 465
- Security: SSL/TLS

- Incoming (IMAP) server: [clook server
This will keep your Clook email in sync across devices.
Option B: Use another mail app
If you prefer Outlook, Thunderbird, Apple Mail, or another client, set up your Clook account with IMAP using the same server settings above.
Option C: Keep using Gmail’s web interface
You can still use Gmail to send messages as your Clook email (so replies come from the right address).
- In Gmail settings → Accounts and Import → “Send mail as” → add your Clook address.
- You’ll need to enter the SMTP details from above.
- Note: Gmail won’t fetch new Clook mail for you anymore, so you’ll need to use an app alongside this.
Step 3: Need help?
Our support team is here to guide you through the change. If you’re unsure whether you’re affected or want help setting up IMAP, just raise a ticket or give us a call.
Key Takeaway
Your Clook email is safe and will keep working.
The only change is that Gmail will stop pulling it in via POP fetch. Switching to IMAP (either in the Gmail app or another client) will keep everything running smoothly.
