Place an order for your desired SSL certificate above.
Once the order has been approved on our side, an email will be sent to your registered email address asking for the CSR. Input this when requested.
Once the CSR has been submitted, you will need to wait for the certificate to process and become active. This will be emailed to you once ready.
NOTE: If you would like the SSL certificate installing, please contact our helpdesk. Installation is not performed automatically.
Frequently asked questions
An SSL certificate is a certificate that verifies the identity of a website and encrypts information sent to the server using SSL techology.
If your customers, or even yourself are transmitting sensitive data to the server such as usernames, passwords, credit card information, sensitive text or handling sensitive data, purchasing an SSL certificate will ensure that data cannot be intercepted and read.
Warranty is in place to protect the end user, not the customer owning the SSL certificate. If our upstream SSL supplier, Globalsign, fail to properly validate the information in the certificate and this leads to a customer losing money due to a fraudulent transaction, then the client may be eligible to claim warranty from Globalsign.
A CSR (Certificate Signing Request) is a two-part certificate and key. The certificate part of a CSR contains information that will be included in the certificate and the key is used to validate that the certificate should actually be used on the server it is installed on.
We generate a signing request automatically as part of the purchasing process.
Most of our newer servers have SNI abilities, which means a dedicated IP address is not required. For customers on older servers where SNI is not available, a dedicated IP address will be charged at £15.00 per year and will be detailed prior to the certificate being installed.
Of course, with all SSL certificates we can install this correctly on all managed hosting accounts free of charge.
